Course Map

When the time is right, the course map will be made available. We release the Course Map at a time to limit sneaky practice before the event to keep everyone on a level playing field.

For events at private locations, we will release as soon as possible. For events in public MTB areas, we usually release the Course Map on the Monday before the event weekend.

As usual, the Course Map is the intended race course, but is always subject to changing trail conditions, people flying over-the-bar’s, Act’s of God, Act’s of WAGE and peagravel density (or lack there of).

Linga Longa Bike Park

The excitement starts to build as you travel a short 20minute drive south of Balingup where rolling hills start to get bigger in anticipation of things to come. As you drive around the last bend, you are warmly greeted to an open hillside with glimpses of massive jumps, towering Pine trees and a large dam. Camping areas a-plenty, toilets, showers and an on-site cafe, what more could you want!? Oh, yes, how about shuttles??

The trails built for enduro. Plenty of yee-har’s, fast descents, switchbacks, technical trail features and jumps galore, this is an event and location that really needs to be on your list of things to do in 2018.

UPDATE: We are still doing our best to find any other backed up data to include in individual competitor’s stage times. There are clearly some stage times that exceed the normal stage times eg 30minutes+ or – which is simply a case of a rider returning to a stage or passing the finish first before the start (caused by WAGE moving timing beacon’s while trying to uncover the problem). Only individual riders will know how they were racing a stage – training with mates, cruising down enjoying the mud or actually racing. As such, the integrity of any overall results cannot be validated and we cannot draw conclusions from these stage times to assess overall winners – whether or not all stages were completed in individual categories. We are very disappointed with not having complete results from the weekend and sincerely apologise. We know some competitor’s were just happy to get out there in the mud with mates and enjoy the trails, and we know some competitor’s are very disappointed having trained and competed and not have results to reflect this. Needless to say, many lessons have been learned and we are busy preparing new procedures and implementing new technology to ensure the timing issue is not repeated, to improve communication with our volunteers and the improve communication with our riders. It is challenging to contact 300+ people across a large area but we feel after initial investigation and the use of mobile connectivity, this is possible. We are also investigating new ways we can more quickly get results back to Race Village so when a future problem arises, it can be addressed quickly. Over the 30 events WA Gravity Enduro has created, we can easily say every event has had a challenge or problem and it is never smooth sailing behind the scenes, but the goal is to ensure it doesn’t impact upon your Mountain Biking Experiences. The timing did impact upon your race at Pemberton and again, we are truly sorry.

We were pleased to be able to donate $1,200 to the Pemberton Mountain Bike Park on behalf of the competitors and donate more than $2,000 to Rock n Roll Mountain Biking who in-turn prepared competitors with a delicious meal. The great support offered by all competitors and spectators has also been a tremendous boost to the townsite of Pemberton which has been under pressure recently following State Government decisions. We are sure Pemberton was the greatest winner of this event.

We still have plenty on offer for 2018, including the new location at Dunsborough, the National Round and the secret final round 7. Regarding series points, we feel we have a good idea to overcome this and that idea is currently being tested and we will get back to you with a solution soon.

Regards, Steve.

Welcome to Round 4 of the 2018 WA Gravity Enduro Series!

We return once again to the deep south west surrounded by majestic Karri Trees and home to the hero dirt that is Pemberton Mountain Bike Park. Pemberton, raining 1 day and drizzling the next. Welcome to Round 3 of the 2018 WA Gravity Enduro Series!

The Goat Farm is a challenging enduro location with plenty going on keeping you totally engaged during each stage. This event is not only Round 3, but also the WA Gravity Enduro State Championships. As usual, open to all!

There is no time to blink as once you have finished dancing around a natural feature, you are thrown into a double or a step-down or a table-top or a switch-back or a rock-garden or a…well, you get the picture.

Be prepared for some steep climbs back up to the heavens with some sweeping views of Perth CBD and feel like you are eyeballing some 747’s suffering some sweet turbulence off the Darling Scarp.

A shandy or two after this event will be very worthwhile ?

This event was originally scheduled to be at Kalamunda but due to an unknown timeframe with a prescribed bushire burn at Kalamunda, we felt it best to change the location to avoid any potential event cancellation.

23/04/2018 We are once again excited to host Round 3 of the Chain Reaction Cycles WA Gravity Enduro Series alongside the 2018 WA Gravity Enduro State Championships! Just sign up the normal way through our event page and select your normal WAGE category. We will then assign you the WA GE State Championships equivalent and publish them soon.
WA Gravity Enduro Series points will apply and as usual, presentations will cover both Round 3 and the State Championships.
Official practice is open on Saturday May 5th with the race underway on Sunday, May 6th.
The Goat Farm always presents a lively Enduro event for competitors and heaps of vantage points for spectators on the tight course.
Only 8 days left to register and as normal, entries are limited!

09/04/2018 Due to the unknown timeframe of a prescribed bushfire burn on the Mt Gunjin trails, we are forced to switch the locations of Kalamunda and the Goat Farm. As these trail networks are close to each other within the Perth Metropolitan area, we felt this was the best approach to switch these locations. However, we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. We wanted to keep you all guessing in 2018 and this is our very-own curveball!

Welcome to Round 6 of the 2018 WA Gravity Enduro Series!

This event is held in conjunction with Round 2 of the MTBA Gravity Enduro Cup

We are very excited to bring you our second new Enduro racing venue for 2018 – York! This location is about 1.5hrs drive north east of Perth and is a new location on the WA Gravity Enduro Calendar. We have been working closely with the Shire and the Community to ensure a fun, safe and exciting event. With the Race Village located on the doorstep on the York Town Centre, competitors will disembark on a casual 2km ride to the foothill of the trails and then make their ascent.

There are 6 stages on offer and we are also adding some spice with a 7th run for the Elite which will be a great vantage point for spectators. The trails offerings include a mixture of rough and raw section, rock drops, an urban feel with a section of concrete staircase and a flatout descent teasing you not to touch those brakes! There are spectacular views from Mt Brown and it will be an awesome vantage point for all.

The main access road (Pioneer Road) will have restricted access to ensure the safe movement of pedestrians and cyclists.

We continue to work very closely with the Shire of York, its Community and Environmental Stakeholders. At this time, please do not access the trails while we finalise course details and alignments.

Make the most of your trip and come to the Open Day on the 18th and 19th August. Stage alignments and bunting will be finalised giving you the best opportunity to discover these new trails on Mt Brown.

On Saturday the 25th August, practise will again be permitted.

On Sunday the 26th August, the main event is underway!

On Monday the 27th August, final packup will be complete. If you are in the area and would like to lend a hand with debunting to ensure we leave no trace, please email steve@wagravityenduro.org for a 25% discount to Round 7 finale at Serpentine!

We welcome you to this new Enduro Adventure at York! As usual, you shredders makes these events wonderful. Please maintain the excellent respect for the local residents and the town and make sure you hit the Bakery and local stores to show your support! This is a terrific opportunity to showcase Mountain Biking in the area and the awesome flow-on benefits for the Community.

20/07/2018 Announcement! This event is now confirmed for Mt Brown York!

21/06/2018 Due to the continued unknown of external authorities surrounding the prescribed bushfire burn at Kalamunda, we have a couple of contingency plans. We can confirm other race venues within 1.5hrs drive of Perth are currently being finalised for approval to give us greater flexibility of venues. The final decision is expected to made made at the end of July. We apologise for the inconvenience.

09/04/2018 Due to the unknown timeframe of a prescribed bushfire burn on the Mt Gunjin trails, we are forced to switch the location of Kalamunda to the Goat Farm. As these trail networks are close to each other within the Perth Metropolitan area, we felt this was the best approach to switch these locations. However, we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. We wanted to keep you all guessing in 2018 and this is our very-own curveball!

05/04/2018 Competitor Start List Now Available. For the vast majority of competitors, your category remains the same if you raced in Round 1. However, the new registration system has an age restriction to limit competitors to certain age categories. Some Male U15 competitors were racing in Male U17 in Round 1. This is permitted as competitors are permitted to compete in harder categories (but not drop down to easier categories). Therefore, the new system may have restricted you to Male U15 but if you raced Male U17 in Round 1, we have used this for Round 2. Round 2 is the final time you can change categories without points being affected for the series so please check carefully and email steve@wagravityenduro.org if you would like to change. Alternatively, let Amy know at the Race Village during check-in.

26/03/2018 Whippets and general times updates

15/03/2018 A note on race entry – your race entry on Sunday will include shuttles. However, not every transition back up to the top will be a shuttle lift (this is Enduro after-all!) Shuttle lifts will be determined on race category similar to previous events. For example, Elite and Expert may have more ride-ups to do as compared to 50+ or U15. This will be finalised and published shortly.

08/03/2018 Registrations are now open! We have teamed up with the highly rated EventPlus to make an easier registration process for you. Families and sponsored riders will benefit greatly from the change with the ability to add competitors from the same account – no more additional emails! For individual competitors, its all smooth sailing. Additionally, your age is fixed to your racing category and registrations and categories will be published on the event page for easier viewing confirmation. We hope you enjoy this substantial change to the registration process and ALL events are currently open! To enter round 2 or future events, just click here

Camping and shuttles are available before the event and are organised by Linga Longa Mountain Bike Park. For camping and shuttle bookings and information, please head to www.lingalongabikepark.com/tickets Shuttles during the race on Sunday will be available and are included in the WAGE race entry price.

There will be signage off Bussell Highway and Carters Road where you will easily find your way into The Pines. Please DRIVE SLOWLY and park on the verge of the firetracks to ensure clear access for vehicle movement and emergency services.

On Saturday, volunteers will be on-course finalising bunting and course signage. Please take the utmost of care if checking out the course.

…and raceday Sunday! The Race Village will be open from 8am where you can collect your raceplate and timing chip. You also must sign the additional waiver should you wish to wear open-face style helmet. However, we strongly encourage you to wear a fullface – especially if you have the equipment for your own safety.
At 9am, Giant Whippets U13 will have a race briefing for a 3-stage race supported by Rock n Roll Mountain Biking. There is a massive turnout of these youngsters which is super-exciting for the sport. Please take care of them and cheer them on!
At 10:15am, there is a mandatory race briefing for the Main Event before the race starts at 10:30am. The course will close at 1:30pm and you will be warmly welcomed by MRORCA (Margaret River Off-Road Cycling Association) with a delicious lunch (if selected during registration) and presentations will soon follow.

Please ensure you are fully resourceful! Don’t forget your hydration, spares and equipment. Make sure your bike is in good working order and any bike lights have been removed (which could effect your timing).

We are on the look-out for a videographer to assist with capturing the race and future events. No editing is required and a paid role is considered based on experience. Please contact steve@wagravityenduro.org asap.

Additionally, we welcome volunteers! Discounted race entry and free lunch is provided. Simple tasks include course marshalling, debunting and packup and will greatly contribute to the smooth running of the event. MRORCA volunteers are generously providing their time which raises funds for their club through donations by WAGE. We also consider paid-roles should you wish to more heavily involved in various aspects of the event. Please contact steve@wagravityenduro.org

Now…this is the time where digital communication drifts away as we head to the course to get ready! Almost anything can be addressed at the event so don’t stress 🙂 Spectators will have free reign to get noisy with the new WAGE cowbells so come and enjoy the day and Enduro Racing at The Pines in Margaret River!

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I enter? Make sure you are logged in. When you are logged in, you will see additional information at the top of this page to enter. If you have not created a login profile, you must Signup first to WAGE (you only need to Signup once).

How much does it cost? We keep our entry fees incredibly low! Entry fees vary based on your category but start from only $29 for the Under 13’s. Insurance selection and location can vary price.

Where is the course map? Gravity Enduro is all about riding the course with little to no knowledge of the course. This helps create a more level playing field and better tests your mountain biking skills. We usually release the course map on the Monday before the weekend’s race.

Do I have to go to race briefing? Yes. Race briefing is mandatory and occurs at the race village 15 minutes before race start. It is essential that you get a full report on the course (and any potential changes), safety requirements and to ensure everyone starts the race from the same location.

Can I shuttle between stages? Absoloutley not. Anyone caught doing so will be automatically disqualified. On occasion, we run private shuttles and this would be the only exception.

I missed registration! We can accept late registration online and on the day plus a $15 surcharge.

Can I get a refund? From the Monday at 9am before the race weekend, refunds, transfers to other competitors or credits are not possible. Before Monday 9am, yes, we can offer a full refund minus 10% administration fees.Â
